Marijana Kapović Solomun is Associate Professor and Vice Dean for Scientific Research at Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka. Dr Kapović Solomun is member of UNCCD Science and Policy Interface, member of UNCCD Intergovernmental group on drought, member of UNCCD Roster of experts, LDN national expert involved in LDN TSP process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, national expert for Drought Management plan in BiH and member of Council of science of BIH. She is Alumna of JFDP programme of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of USA in area of Land degradation and conservation, and alumna of Technical University of Dresden in area of Sustainable management of soil resources. Dr. Kapović Solomun has broad international and national experience in scientific projects, as leader or expert for soil, land degradation and forestry, who published significant number of scientific papers. She is Management Committee member of European Cooperation of Science and Technology COST Action “Towards robust projections of European forests under climate change”, COST Action “Natural Flood Retention on Private Land“,COST Action „Fire in the Earth System: Science & Society“ and Cost Action “The Soil Science & Archaeo-Geophysics Alliance: going beyond prospection” 2018-2022. Marijana Kapović Solomun is founder and President of Association for women’s empowerment and nature protection “Mother Nature”, President of Board Members “United States Alumni Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, and Vice President of “Association of Forestry Engineers „EcoForest“.
