BIO

Neli (Daniela) Jordanova graduated with a degree of Geophysics and obtained her PhD at Faculty of Physics at Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski”. Since 1996 she has worked at National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and presently she is a Professor there. She was awarded the degree “Doctor of Sciences” in 2015 based on her habilitation work on magnetic properties of soils in Bulgaria. She is highly recognized researcher in the field of environmental magnetism with over 70 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Team leader of FP7 project iSOIL “Interactions between soil related sciences – Linking geophysics, soil science and digital soil mapping”; Principal Investigator in a number of bi-lateral cooperation projects with scientists from France, China, Czech Republic. Research interests of N. Jordanova are related to application of magnetic methods in environmental studies; soil magnetism; archaeomagnetism. Author of a monograph “Soil Magnetism” published in 2016 by Academic Press, Elsevier (ISSBN: 978-0-12-809239-2).
